Cataracts are a condition
affecting millions of older Americans – and developing a cataract
is a normal part of aging. Many of our patients fear that immediate
surgery is always needed, however, this is not true. Dr. Sullivan
will carefully monitor your condition and recommend surgery at the
best time. A significant portion of patients never need surgery, and
they are able to enjoy an acceptable quality of vision throughout
their life.
If surgery is needed, our doctor
performs lens implant surgery using the latest technology including
small incision/phacoemulsification methods. this means that the
cloudy lens (or cataract) is removed and replaced with a synthetic
one.
This eliminates the need for thick
after-cataract glasses.
